In Noongar, Baldja means “Standing United” — three businesses standing together as one, united by a shared commitment to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, to community, and to country.
Our artwork was created with not-for-profit Art vs Depression (AVD). Gracie, a proud Māori man from AVD, partnered with Jonica Sullivan, a proud Wongathai woman from Laverton. The piece brings together three places close to Baldja's founders — Balingup (Frank Mitchell's hometown), Dublin Hills in Ireland (Niall Conlon's hometown), and the Derbarl Yerrigan (Swan River), near Baldja's office — harmonised in Aboriginal and Māori artistic styles.
