20 Aboriginal Apprentices by 2020 Commitment

November 2016, Noongar Whadjuk descendant man Frank Mitchell made the ambitious pledge to create 20 Aboriginal electrical apprenticeships by 2020.

Our goal to provide 20 Aboriginal apprentices with the opportunity to learn valuable skills and earn the title of tradesmen, does more than put money in the bank. It creates pride and determination. Not only to the apprentices, but their families, children and communities. That is the kind of social change Wilco wish to inspire. As of November 2019 Wilco awarded it’s tenth apprenticeship to a Yawuru women from Broome. Achieving 50% of its goal in 3 years.
